Regulations of the 8th International Conference on

Interdisciplinary Aspects of Diseases of the Skin and Mucous Membranes

REGULATIONS

1. 8th International Conference on Interdisciplinary Aspects of Diseases of the Skin and Mucous Membranes, referred to hereinafter referred to as the Conference, is addressed to the students of medical universities and young physicians.

2. The Conference will be held on March 11th – 12th, 2022 on-line on Zoom Platform and April 9th, 2022 at the Department and Clinic of Dermatology of the Medical University of Warsaw, Koszykowa 82a Street in Warsaw.

3. The organizer of the Conference is the Organizing Committee, which consists of the Board of the Student Scientific Club in the Department and Clinic of Dermatology of the Medical University of Warsaw, and the appointees to the Committee.

4. The submitted abstracts should cover issues falling within the scope of the Conference, in particular: basic research and progress in diagnostic and molecular tests of the skin and mucous membrane diseases, the new challenges and problems in the skin and mucous membrane diseases, skin manifestations of systematic diseases and others.

5. We accept abstracts of original research papers, review papers and case reports.

6. The official language of the International Session is English. Polish is the official language of the Polish Sessions of the Conference.

7. The official website of the Conference is available at www.skndermatologia.wum.edu.pl.

8. These regulations are an integral part of the application for participation in the Conference and apply to all Participants.

PARTICIPATION IN THE CONFERENCE

1. Students of all years of medical and dental courses of medical universities, medical interns and PhD studentsare entitled to participate in the Conference.

2. The participation in the Conference is free of charge.

3. Prior registration through a registration form available on the official website of the Conference is a requirement of participation.

4. The registration form for passive participants (including the second author and other co-authors of the presented works) will be posted on social media and on Conference's official Facebook website on February 16th, 2022 at 20:00 (GMT+1).

5. Each Participant will receive a certificate of participation in the Conference. Active Participants will receive the certificate on the day of the Conference, after giving a presentation. Passive Participants will have the certificate delivered in the electronic form to the email address provided in the registration form within 21 days after the Conference.

TERMS OF ABSTRACT SUBMISSION

1. The abstract is to be submitted by completing the form available on the Conference website and sending it electronically in .doc or .docx format, by January 31st, 2022 until 23:59 (GMT+1) to the following addresses:

- for case reports: przypadki.skn.dermatologia@gmail.com

- for review papers: prace.pogladowe.skn.dermatologia@gmail.com

 

2. Abstracts must be submitted in English.

3. The abstract can contain neither tables, charts nor drawings.

4. The abstract must consist of 150-250 words – more extended abstracts will be disqualified. The title of the presentation and the authors' names do not count towards the words limit.

5. The abstract must be composed of the following parts:

  1. For original research papers: introduction, the aim of the study, materials and methods, results, conclusions.
  2. For case reports: introduction, case description, discussion.
  3. For review papers: no division into individual subsections has to be made.

6. The title of the presentation should be submitted in English.

7. The Organizing Committee appoints the Scientific Committee that will qualify the submitted work for the presentation during the Conference.

8. The Authors will be informed about the results of the qualification by email by February 12th, 2022. At the same time, they will receive the information on qualification for individual Session.

9. The Scientific Committee decision on acceptance or rejection of work is final.

10. The abstracts of work accepted for presentation will be published on line in “Dermatology Review” journal.

11. Abstract submission is synonymous with the authors' acceptance of Conference Regulations and gives consent to publish the abstract. The authors of the work bear the consequences of non-compliance or violation of the Regulations of the Conference.

PRINCIPLES OF PRESENTATION

1. The work will be presented by only one of the authors, appointed in the registration form.

2. Works in the International Sessions are to be presented in English. Presentations during the Polish Sessions will be in Polish.

3. Authors are obliged to prepare a multimedia presentation.

4. The presentation should be made in Microsoft PowerPoint and saved in .ppt or .pptx format. In case of sending the file in a format other than stated above, the Organization Committee cannot guarantee that the presentation will be functional during the Conference. The title of the presentations should include: title of work, name and surname of the presenter and trustee of the presentation. 

5. The presentation should be submitted with the name of the presenter, title of work and the name of the by March 8th, 2022 by 23:59 (GMT+1). Session to the email addresses:

- for case reports: przypadki.skn.dermatologia@gmail.com

- for review papers: prace.pogladowe.skn.dermatologia@gmail.com

After this date, the Organizing Committee reserves the right to refuse to accept the presentation.

6. The schedule of presentations will take place in the order determined by the Organizing Committee and stated in the schedule.

7. The schedule will be posted on www.skndermatologia.wum.edu.plnot later than 3 days prior to the Conference.

8. The Organizing Committee reserves the right to introduce changes to the schedule.

9. The International Sessions will be held in parallel with the Polish Sessions in separate rooms.

10. The time allocated to the presentation during the sessions, regardless of the language in which the work will be given is 5 minutes of presentation + discussion (1 minute maximum) for original research papers and for review papers and 4 minutes of presentation + discussion (1 minute maximum) for case reports.

11. All authors (co-authors registered as passive participants) can participate in the discussion.

12. The person conducting the session reserves the right to stop the presentation or discussion if time limit is extended.

13. Each person presenting the work (active participant) receives a Presentation Certificate (1 Certificate for each of the submitted works), and each passive participant receives a Participation Certificate.

TERMS OF WORK EVALUATION

1. The Organizing Committee appoints the Jury.

2. The Jury will be composed of academics, recognized specialists in the field.

3. The results of the Jury's assessment are final and indisputable.

4. The authors of the best works will receive awards and distinctions.

5. The winners of each of the sessions will be announced and awarded during the official Closing Ceremony.

6. Information on the results will not be provided by phone.

7. Information on results and the Conference will be posted on www.skndermatologia.wum.edu.pl.

FINAL PROVISIONS

1. The Organizing Committee is responsible for resolving any disputes which are not regulated by this statute.

2. Submitting an abstract constitutes an acceptation of this statute.

3. By submitting their work, the Conference Participant agrees to the processing of all data provided during registration of work to organize the Conference by the Organizing Committee, for the preparation of the abstract book publication of the title of the work, abstracts and results of the competition on www.skndermatologia.wum.edu.pl.

4. The Organizing Committee reserves the right to amend the regulations stated above.
